# Chat with other people

> Talk with other people in O.

A conversation can be about a person, a Circle, a note or something else that's shared. Before you send a message, check who is in the conversation.

## Where to find it

Choose Chat on a person, Circle, note or other item, where you see it. To ask O for private help instead, open Home.

## What you can do

* Choose Chat on a person or item to start a conversation about it, or to reopen one.
* Write a message to the people in that conversation.
* Use the conversation's controls to see who is in it and what you can do.

## How to use it

* Before you send, check that you're in the right conversation and who will see your message.
* Be respectful, and share only what's meant for the people in the conversation.
* Ask O on Home when you want private help thinking something through or writing a draft.

  **Privacy.** Everyone in a conversation can see your messages. That's different from asking O a private question on Home, so share only what's meant for them.
