# Export or delete a Circle

> Download a Circle's details when export is turned on, or delete a Circle after you confirm.

## Where to find it

Open the menu of a Circle you own, either in the **Circles** list or on the Circle's own page.

## What you can do

* Choose Export to download the Circle details the page offers.
* Choose Delete. O asks you to confirm first.
* Cancel if you picked the wrong Circle, or if what's in it isn't what you expected.

## How to use it

* Look through what you exported and keep the downloaded file somewhere safe.
* Before you delete, check the Circle's name and think about whether you still need its details.
* Confirm only when you mean to remove the Circle.

<Note>
  **Good to know.** An export can include details about the people in the Circle, so keep the file safe. Deleting removes the Circle. It does not archive it. On a Circle someone shared with you, you won't see the actions only the owner can use.
